Who We Are
- An organization devoted to the safe and effective operation of British Columbia’s 911 system as well as its continuous improvement.
- Our members include:
- 911 service providers/Public Service Answering Point (PSAP)
- Local governments
- Dispatcher providers for ambulance, fire and police
- The incumbent system provider or Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC)
- Technical consultants and industry professionals
- Allied to various standards organizations including the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), Association of Public-Safety Communication Officials (APCO) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
What We Do
- Advocate for changes and improvements in how the 911 system operates
- Review service/performance reports from the ILEC
- Conduct training sessions for our members including the service providers
